There’s been a lot of feedback about how the Gang Log could provide better information since it’s inception. I went ahead and implemented a bunch of them today. Thanks to Man Mobile, Jick, The Kitchen Sink, PaidPiedPiperPal, and everyone else for their feedback.
- The logs are now filterable. This isn’t 100% yet, because posts older than about noon today aren’t categorized (they’ll all appear under Gang Warfare).
- Donations to the Gang Stash are now visible in the log. This, coincidently, is why the ‘Stash’ isn’t checked by default in the filter, it’ll probably get spammy.
- The logs are now kept for 72 rather than 24 hours.
- For now it’ll remember the chosen filter for the length of your session, but it’ll probably store it permanently once I get account options in.
- Buying hideout upgrades and unlocking hideout upgrades are now both visible in the log.
Some other updates:
- Hawk will no longer offer to set your dead friends free. He’s not a great guy, but he’s not that mean. Thanks Man Mobile and PaidPiedPiperPal for helping me sort out what was going on here.
- Similarly, the watch-coveting Third Eye won’t talk about going to guard a dead Dr. Amundsen anymore. Good catch, RazielSonOfKain.
- The repeated function errors last night are resolved. Thanks thrillhouse!
- The ‘Rest Here’ link in the Hideout page will now always rest in the Hideout, even if it has to take you out of your current area. It will warn you first and only take you out if needed (Ghost Ship and Below the Charnel House, specifically). Good suggestion, The Kitchen Sink.
Cheers!

Along with the donations page, I’ve managed to sneak in some other changes and fixes.
- There is now a Completed pane of the Quest Log. Thanks to Metro and razielsonofkain for the suggestion.
- When loading the login page, the username field should get focus automatically. Thanks bonbon for the suggestion.
- Buffs granted at the end of combat shouldn’t decrement right away. Good catch, Argeth.
- On the Docks, the two choice encounters with dockhands (for coffee and armwrestling/fishing pole) have been combined into one. Thanks for pointing this out a while back, razielsonofkain.
- Gangs with quotation marks should now display correctly in player’s profiles. Thanks Olaf!
- The gang description preview should no long display the BRs to go along with your newlines. Thanks for the bug report, The Kitchen Sink.
- Also, thanks to Mag, The Kitchen Sink, Argeth, DanBob, and Wyrd for some typo catches! Yay Typos!
Also a couple fixes on the new University update:
- The quest log for the extended Hawk subquest shouldn’t jump ahead if you’ve calmed down the Quad. Thanks Wyrd!
- When defeating The Hammer, he will not display debug information, as appropriate as that may be for his character :) Thanks Lord Finisher and Olaf!
- Hawk will still be available to talk about your friends after the Trouble on the Docks quest. Good catch, Starwed.
Cheers!

Okay, the donations page is in along with new face at Mikhail’s to help describe the process and reward a bit.
For the moment, only the basic reward (the Mr. A, if you will, the currency that is both neat on its own and can be used to buy future rewards) is in. I want to make sure the donation system is working properly before I start layering more stuff on top.
The link between us and Paypal isn’t tested out 100%, so there might be some weirdness there. Rest assured that if you donate, you’ll get your present quickly and you’ll be helping debug any problems there may be. In theory, it should be automatic as soon as your donation clears Paypal. Which is pretty cool.
Edit: The automatic processing seems to be working properly. Huzzah!
Cheers!

P.S.: As with many things in Metroplex, the reward is a bit more than meets the eye. Zack has some hints.

About half-way through the University quest update, including a bunch of new content on the ganger side of things. Integrating new content like this is tricky so I expect some bugs to slip through. Please give me a holler if they do.
So there are some tweaks to the bossfights on the other side and some tuning of the Eclipse sale prices left to do.
Other updates:
- Messaging is working again. Thanks to Wyrd and The Kitchen Sink for reporting that.
- Equipping an item into an empty slot and an item over itself both give better feedback. Thank you, Justin and The Kitchen Sink respectively.
- The error message when you try to send a message without anything in the ‘To:’ field should be a lot clearer now. Good note, The Kitchen Sink.
- The quest log entry should show up properly after finding out where Lo is from Mikhail. Thanks, DanBob!
- Rangefinder Bracelet is now equippable. Good find, The Kitchen Sink.
- Thanks for typo-finding, Mag
Cheers!

Two more Mall changes.
- The service charge amount has been reduced (temporarily if not permanently), to 2% minimum 5 credits.
- You can now retract your own orders directly from the item page. Thanks for the suggestion, The Kitchen Sink.
Some other changes:
- Lo now acknowledges than you’ve been sent to see Dr. Amundsen. Good call, DanBob.
- Corrected some typos from Wyrd, who needs no definite article.
Tomorrow is jobhunting and working on the University Quest retool. Some cool stuff coming up there (the quest, not the jobs).
Cheers!

Welcome to OmniMall 0.2
Added a couple new hotly requested features and another handful of bug fixes to the Mall today.
- You can now view your own orders and retract orders you’ve placed. Thanks for the suggestion PaidPiedPiperPal, Shademaster00, and Mr. Green.
- You can also search for items by category or use category to narrow your search. Good suggestion, Jick.
- Entering insane values into the mall should give you feedback instead of PHP errors. Thanks for the bughunting, Shademaster00.
Some other fixes/new features as well:
- The option to show all bonuses from yesterday has already been upgraded. It now updates whenever your bonuses change (if you have it open). Good suggestion, Al.
- Skill names when you receive them should be clickable like items, effects, and techniques. Good catch, Shademaster00.
- On a related note, the feedback using the Sea Lord’s Crown should recognize if you’ve already gotten it’s primary benefit. Thanks for the feedback, Shademaster00.
- Also, thanks to The Kitchen Sink for snagging some typos.
Cheers!

First a couple of tweaks on the post-riot quad.
- The OJ stand is down to one free sample a day. Sorry OJ lovers.
- Killing the poet now kills the poet. Fair warning.
Attacking in Gang Warfare should be awarding XP again like normal combats. If it’s not, definitely give me a holler. Thanks, PaidPiedPiperPal, for the bug report here.
Also, the Mall now has back links to the top page so you don’t need to navigate back down through the Net. Good suggestion Harrakan.
Cheers!

So not sure who put what in my Kashi this morning, but I’m largely caught up on bugs and feature suggestions in addition to pushing the Mall today.
- You can now see your total bonuses by clicking a link from your character page (click your name in the left-hand pane, click ‘See All Bonuses’). These include equipment, buffs, and all but the weirdest skills. Thanks for the suggestion, Al.
- The security guards’ response to you finishing the ‘Trouble on the Docks’ quest for them has been tweaked. This one was kind of a group effort over at the forums. Good feedback everyone!
- OmniTech Trauma Bandages are now a tad more interesting, thanks to Man Mobile and DanBob.
- If your hideout’s smuggler has been used for the day, it now appears greyed out and gives a little feedback rather than just vanishing like ninja. Thanks Jick!
- Gang leaders can now whitelist members from the Leadership screen. Thanks for the suggestion, The Kitchen Sink.
- For players with access to their gang’s stash, the donation screen and the stash screen link back and forth now. Another good suggestion from The Kitchen Sink.
- Finishing off your last opponent the same round you fall in battle should now give a bit of explanatory text. Good suggestion, Tyren.
- A lot of early quest text has been clarified. Thank you for helping shore these up, DanBob.
- The Techniques page has gotten another coat of glossy paint, including better breaks between sections. Shiny! Thanks for the feedback, the Kitchen Sink.
- ‘The Net’ is now loading in the correct pane. There’s some subtle irony here I’m missing. Thanks for the bug report, PaidPiedPiperPal.
- The side pane shouldn’t be erroring out loading certain item descriptions anymore. Good find, Canadaman!
- Also, special thanks to Mag, Man Mobile, and Canadaman for catching some of my typose.
Have a good night everyone.
Cheers!

Hello everyone!
Shiny new feature today. The Mall is in!
Now, it won’t sneak up and punch you in the kidneys, you’ll have to track it down, but I don’t think it’ll be terribly hard. The rest of the Net is sparse for now, but if you’re wondering why the unlock is a little weird, it all ties together.
With the Mall being what it is, please hammer at it and see if you can make anything break off. If there are going to be infinite money/item/whatever bugs, this is a piece of code that’d introduce them.
Quick Edit: If you reset, your existing orders will still be posted, but the resulting items/credits will be put in storage with the rest of the stuff from your old life.
Thanks everyone, I appreciate the help :) And now I can get back to handling my backlog of requests and bug reports!
Cheers!

Okay, the great message cleanup has begun.
As a side note, this isn’t really to cut down on server space or speed up the database or anything (although it certainly couldn’t hurt). It’s actually because I’ve been testing the Mall code thoroughly and I know I would want it the moment the mall code rolled out.
Cheers!
