You can now view other players’ profiles through a link at the bottom of your character sheet. As you can imagine, this is one of the preliminaries for PvP, so you can ‘know thy enemy.’ And, perhaps more importantly, know thy friends.
In a related note, you can now write a description for your character (visible in the profile) by clicking on the creatively named ‘Description’ link on your character sheet. Thanks to PaidPiedPiperPal for the suggestion.
Two other updates:
- There is now a ‘Reply’ button for messages. Thanks again to PaidPiedPiperPal on this one.
- David will now display appropriate text after you save him. Thanks to Argeth for the bug report and grats on actually saving David!
Cheers!

Made quite a few changes today, some are function and others are cosmetic changes that I want in place before the PvP rollout.
- The left hand pane should load less often. This should help with some of the ‘flickering’. If you catch it not reloading when it has new information to display, let me know.
- Striking with an empty Chain now gives you a new hand of five Techniques. I think this might give open up some interesting options, but give feedback if you have an opinion either way. Consider it an experiment.
- The character sheet (the screen accessed from the Character link in the top pane) got an overhaul. Notably, Equipment has been moved solely to the Inventory page to make room for the Gang/PvP information.
- You can now change the capitalization of your character’s name. No more all-lower-case for you! Click on your name in the character sheet to make any changes.
- Moved gender into the character sheet from the initial sign-up form. If you care what gender your character is, you can set that in your character sheet as well. This is mostly for avatars and pronouns in descriptions for the upcoming PvP stuff.
Cheers!

A few little fixes today.
- The bad poetry encounter that was broken, then fixed, the rebroken is now fixed again. Thanks Sildra for reporting it the first time and Argeth the second time!
- The Agar Powder and Biomonitor Circuit recipes are taking the right components now, thanks to Twitch.
- Dynamite exploding now interacts properly with Techniques that look for being the middle or end of a Chain. Thank you, Sildra, for this one.
Cheers!

Okay, I’m officially caught up on the reports from my vacation. The related storm of updates is listed below.
- As a number of people have requested, avoiding encounters now doesn’t usually cause energy loss. If you see anything weird with this, drop me a bug report.
- On a related note, running out of Techniques in a fight now drains Energy properly.
- Masses of Tentacles encountered on the Slags beach now give XP and items like they’re supposed to. Thanks to Twitch for keeping at me about this.
- Once you’ve bought a drink for the day at the Happy Hour, you can now reenter without buying another drink or expending Energy. Thanks Argeth.
- Items whose “use” is selling them have been relabeled to make that clearer. Thanks again Argeth!
- Items that give XP now grant it immediately instead of after your next encounter. Thanks MoreUmlaut!
- Its no longer possible to complete the Dock Song sidequest multiple times. Thanks to MoreUmlaut for reporting this.
- Pinatas have experienced a holiday-related growth surge.
And I’m spent. Back to working on PvP for me.
Cheers!

Hope everyone had a great new year’s eve/day. I’m back and chugging through the backlog of bug reports. Actually have a whole stack, so it might take a bit. Thanks to everyone for reporting problems big and small.
The only notable change thus far is that Energy now hard caps at 100, so eating or caffeining past there won’t help. So you might want to change your routine to eat/caffeine closer to running out of Energy.
Edit: There are also some more sources for the Technique “Dive For Cover” (thanks Argeth!)
Cheers!

Merry Christmas everyone! Be sure to check under your tree (or, you know, get a tree if you haven’t already).
I’m going to be out of town until New Years, so chances of updates are fairly minimal. If something needs my attention, I will still be watching bug reports.
Cheers!

Very small update today. There are two new Techniques in: Crushing Punch and the return of Rain of Bullets as an area of effect attack.
The real meat of PvP is done, but there’s lots of little stuff left. Its possible I might have it done before I skip town on the 26th, but no promises.
Hope everyone’s having a happy holiday. Remember to check under your tree in Metroplex too :)
Cheers!

Taking a break from working on PvP to catch up on little bits of content that got put off during the Slags rollout.
Some content:
- The obnoxious poets on the Quad have a bit more content to them.
- Hound dust can now be used with Experimental Chemistry.
- Midgard security guards have a new uncommon drop for all your riot supression needs.
- A new religious order, the Blind Legion, have taken the place of the conspiracy theorist crazies.
Some fixes:
- The quest feedback during the Dock Song quest is more descriptive. Thanks Rexque!
- The Stream of Needles Technique has an image uploaded now. Thanks to Szodrin for pointing this one out.
- Resting will no longer display “Continue On!” when that’s not a valid option with your location.
And lastly experimentation shows up above learned recipes now in the Crafting screens. The experimentation options were close to slipping clear off the bottom of Chemistry.
As always, if you have any feedback or bug reports, send them through the ingame Bug Report feature or a message to Player 1 (Kinak).
Cheers!

I’m currently in the middle of revamping the combat code to pave the way for PvP. Once I’m done, as a pleasant side effect, we’ll have the more options to tweak enemies. For example, the living oil slick you might encounter outside the Slags will take more damage from fire.
Edit: The data revamps on enemies are done. You should now see the effects above. As another pleasant side effect, Defense against various types of Techniques should now be more effective.
As always, send in any problems I manage to cause or general commentary as Bug Reports or comments on this thread.
Cheers!

Made a whole bunch of minor updates today, detailed below:
- The Inventory and Crafting screens now remember which sub-screen you were in until you log off.
- Crafting also keeps focus on the recipes and items you used last. This should make experimenting and the occasional multi-recipe bonanza a little easier.
- The PHP warnings in the Inventory should be gone for good.
- When you’re logged off, the game should now try to break out of frames, although this won’t necessarily work 100%.
- Gang Enforcers in the Fang hideout were using bugged to use some overly long (and nonsensical) chains of attacks. This should be fixed and, among other things, bring them closer to their intended difficulty.
- Added placeholder text for Lo, David, and Dr. Amundsen after completion of the Slags quest.
- There’s a temporary leaderboard of sorts in The Quad for the holiday event. It’ll be taken down when extra-special presents are given out (25th or so).
Cheers!
