A few updates and fixes consolidated from the last few weeks.
First, Updates!
- Defenders in gang warfare should now receive a blow-by-blow description of the battle in their notification message. Wooo!
- Icons for all Conducts you’ve followed in Seasonal Reset runs now appear in your Profile.
- Added some shield-related content.
Then, Fixes!
- Corrected an issue where the Gang Warfare messages said you were fighting yourself. Thanks to Liasi, Viscerator, and The Fop for reporting that.
- Fixed an issue with Jab not properly taking Strength into account for damage. Good eyes, Al! Good eyes!
- Eclipse Purist should now be showing up in Profiles properly. Thanks, Mag!
- And resolved an issue where the HKGames Helmet was interfering with sleeping. No fixes yet for the issue of Metroplexity interfering with sleeping. Good catch, The Fop.
Also resolved some typos thanks to DoctrZombie, Dennis, Mag, and Cryptodynamic. Thanks!
For those keeping track (and not reading this from the future, I’m aiming to release the next unearthly item the week of the 15th. So, the 15th to 22nd, sometime in there, hopefully.

The last view updates and some bug fixes: digest edition.
- Added a bit of bite to broken bottles. Thanks for the suggestion, Francis Vixen.
- Mouth-based attacks now interact properly with hats that cover your mouth. Thanks for the push, BigBellyJarelli.
- Added some new pistol crafting recipes.
- Eating sushi should no longer throw in_array() errors. Thanks Cryptodynamic, The Fop, and Liasi.
- Resolved an issue that made Zack’s unavailable. Thanks GoldS!
- Fixed an issue making the shiny new restored pistol unequippable. Thanks again, BigBellyJarelli!
Also sorted out some typos thanks to rxzambrana, xerf, and Mag.

So, here’s the list of bugs from slightly before I left through now. I should be caught up now, so if there’s anything you sent in that dropped through the cracks, let me know. Also sorry if I missed anyone that reporting a bug, my records are a bit scattered.
- Cleaned up some issues with 05Cleaner and killing sites at the end of the virus event. Thanks to Al, GoldS, Cryptodynamic, Thrillhouse, Dead_Eye, and Francis Vixen for the bug reports.
- Corrected a pair of bugs allowing free access node searches, thanks to Factitious and Cryptodynamic.
- Sorted out a serious bug related to multi-using items. Thanks GoldS!
- Then fixed multi-selling blackmail material, which I broke there. Good catch, Dennis!
- Made the personal comm dish properly craftable thanks to Liasi.
- Also made the Crystallized Octopus Eye craftable under normal circumstances. Thanks for the dark magic, GoldS.
- Removed a few more hanging Docks references. Good eyes, Heriodule.
And a couple changes:
- I might be opening a can of worms here, but the Gang Boss now responds to ties, driving home a bit more of your character’s nature. Thanks to Liasi for this one.
- The Jitters are now a touch more controllable. Thanks to Francis Vixen for the suggestion.
Also fixed up some typos thanks to Cryptodynamic, Al, Francis Vixen, and Mag.

It occurs to me that I haven’t done a master bugfix post in a while. How do I know? Because I have a giant pile of them to post. Enjoy!
- Corrected an infinite items bug, thanks to GoldS. If GoldS was a country, I’d be waving a little GoldS flag right now.
- Fixed a bug that made Gang Warfare unavailable. Thanks for catching that, cudgelist and DerMagus!
- Undestroyed the Metroplex University Computer Lab. Thanks for the bug reports Argeth, Liasi, and Mosquito.
- Fixed a funny issue where the links on the Golden Chip leaderboard were going to random gangs. Good eyes Mag and Francis Vixen.
- Corrected a bug preventing the Signal Tracker from being sold, back when it was sellable… which it isn’t anymore… Thanks for unbreaking the event, Happy Yeti and DoctrZombie.
- The mouseover for the Waterfront now appropriately says The Waterfront rather than The Docks. Thanks for the new eyes on that Heriodule!
- I have a note here that says “Broke the news to 05Cleaner (Argeth)” Not sure time I meant, but Argeth’s reported a lot of issue’s with 05Cleaner’s dialogue. Thanks!

We’ve got a lot of bug fixes this time. Perhaps unsurprisingly, most of them reflect the new battlefields out in the Net.
- Corrected a bug allowing use of arbitrary tools in Net Combat. Big thanks to Al for this one.
- The Viral Reformatter is properly closing access to the reformatted site. Thanks Cryptodynamic and Argeth!
- Enemy information should be immediately updated on successful use of the Viral Reformat tool. Good catch, DerMagus!
- Zack now has a conversation option for the Zalian Defense Tool. Thanks for pointing that out, Arkaim.
- The arms dealer in the VIP Room will no longer sometimes give away free crates of goodies. Thanks Smokestack!
- Using Cover Fire underwater will no longer result in uncontrollable urges to gnaw the flesh of one’s enemies. Thanks for the bug report, BigBellyJarelli!

While most hackers have chosen a side, either beating back the viral menace or building towards a viral renaissance, others have been applying the lessons of the battle against the virus to their normal goals of subverting as many sites as possible.
Meanwhile, Extract Data and Intercept Data got a bit of a facelift. They now provide better feedback if they’re overwriting data from a previous use. Thanks to Argeth and Elliotbay for the suggestions.
And the for The Tar Pit has been moved back to it’s status as learned from the wilds of the Net as a quest recipe, rather than by experimentation. Thanks to Al for pointing that out.
Also a huge thanks to Kieliszek, Thrillhouse, Mag, Cryptodynamic, Metro, Arkaim, Factitious, and Borkman for helping me hunt down some of my innumerable typos. Keep fighting the good fight!

First off, there are a couple of new options in the Net screen:
- Targets can now be individually removed with the aptly named “Delete Link” option.
- Target Search and Intrusive Search can now be run directly from the Net screen.
And some updates:
- When modifying a deck to contain less than 15 Techniques, it will now tell you exactly how many you have. Good catch, Al.
- Bonuses to Combat XP now apply even if you’re beating up poor defenseless creatures that don’t grant any XP on their own. Thanks Cank!
- OmniMall will now appropriately interpret commas when you’re using it to launder fat sacks of cash. Good thought, Al!
- In theme with our updates, you can no longer anti-hack the Prototype Trenchcoat into giving you negative energy of Sloppy Hacker. Thanks for the bug report, Al!
Also corrected some typos from Vordrax, Mag, Francis Vixen, Xerf, Cryptodynamic, DerMagus, and Arkaim. Thanks, everyone!

Between resting and working on Christmas, I’ve squeezed in a few updates.
- You can now retrieve items from Zack multiple times a run (for example, if it spans seasons). Thanks for pointing that out, Al.
- Added conversation options to Zack regarding the seasonal reset rewards. Good call, Mag.
- The OmniMall now sends messages to gift receivers explaining how to get their gifts if they don’t already have OmniMall access. Thanks for the suggestion, Sir Cheddar.
- Fixed a few bugs preventing seasonal reset rewards from being handed out in a timely fashion. Thanks Mag and Factitious!
- Corrected a bug where stuns weren’t consistently disrupting Techniques that depend on their predecessors (like Swordplay). Thanks Xerf!
Also thanks to Xerf, Suuljin, Cryptodynamic, Mag, Factitious, and GoldS for their continued effort typo-slaying.

Added a couple of heavily requested features today and fixed up a pile of bugs.
Features first!
- Touched up the Techniques page. Lots of little changes, but the big one now is being able to delete the Default deck.
- Simple recipes are now remembered between resets.
- Added a ‘lieutenant’ rank within gangs that can modify the gang warfare agendas.
- In a related note, the gang ranks now have clicky definitions like attributes do.
- New resets now include a date when the reset completed and are sortable by time of completion.
And bugs!
- Zack stopped giving out complimentary copies of the Emerald Gift scrapbook when you reset. Thanks for the bug report and the honest, Factitious!
- Sewer Hideout encounters should react properly now if you kill half the guards, then sneak the rest of the way. Thanks Al!
- Location is now properly included in gang warfare messages when you lose control. Thanks for the bug report, Cank!
- Corrected an issue where the game thought all runs were completed on January 1st, 1970. Go Team Unix! Thanks for the bug report, Factitious.
- Hopefully fixed an issue where Techniques based on your hit points weren’t updating midround. Good catch, Llamaman!
And typos!

Fair number of fixes and tweaks, but nothing that really jumps out and bites me. Maybe you’ll find something that excites you, though.
- There are now warnings in combat when your deck is running down (or out and you’re on your last legs). Also, you can mouseover ‘Techniques’ there and get an exact count. Good suggestion, Llamaman.
- Times in the Gang Log now display a date if you mouseover them. Thanks for the suggestion, Ganymed!
- The Hoop Jump technique is now properly letting you weave closer and further from enemies. Thanks Mag!
- Corrected some issues with the Storm Hawk’s and Masked Owl’s techniques. Good catches, Al!
- There’s now an illuminating error when you try to craft without selecting a recipe. Thanks for the bug report, ne0x.
- Optical needler now counts as a needler. Thanks for helping me keep things tautological, Razunar.
- Using a chain with solely ‘Do Nothing’ now refreshes your hand like entering an empty chain. Thanks Al for pointing this out, although I know you won’t be excited to see this is the fix.
Also special thanks to Vholes Piper, Mag, ne0x, Al, suuljin, Llamaman, xKiv, Cryptodynamic, and Thrillhouse for rounding up some typos. We will see them driven before us!
