It’s time for another round of updates reports. Just a load of small stuff, for the most part.
- Everyone’s favorite bum now gives more Techniques when you train with him.
- Changing avatars now works properly in Opera and IE. Thanks for the bug report, fr00d.
- Sending profits to your smuggler now works properly when hitting enter. Good note, Valera!
- If you’re using the “Metros in Header” option under account options, it’ll now be hidden while you’re inside the Slags. Good suggestion, Lord Finisher.
- The classic handgun recipe now displays properly. Good catch, Juntao!
- The inventory screen will say when you have nothing equipped, rather than skipping straight into the list. Good suggestion, ManMobile.
- Corrected an issue where multiple puzzle box moves would do the same thing. Thanks PaidPiedPiperPal!
- The ordering of hideout upgrades on the hideout screen should be consistent across areas, regardless of what order you bought them in. Good call, Olaf.
- Fixed a bug where area of effect attacks can cause too much damage under special situations. Thanks, Valera!
- Also, thanks to Mag, PaidPiedPiperPal, and Wyrd for helping me squash some typos.
Status wise: I’m in crunch mode trying to get the first block of Survivors’ Quest content out before Gen Con rolls around. If it ends up being a trade between time and quality, though, I’ll put it off until after the Con.

There’ve been a couple updates recently, just want to post them so we be all up to date.
- Completely revamped the luxury foods smuggling. You get more foods as your smugglers build up connections with the upper crust. New foods have also been added and existing foods have had their Energy decreased.
- Corrected a major mall bug where old orders weren’t copied over properly when you reclaimed your items with reset. Big thank you to PaidPiedPiperPal for being the guinea pig on this one!
- Skill levels on other people’s skills now show their level, not yours. Thanks Mag and others for harassing me until I implemented this :)
- Joining chat while you’re in a gang now defaults to being in both Open and Gang, rather than just Gang. Thanks Llamaman, RazielSonOfKain, and Mag for brining this one up.
- The quest log entry for helping out Angela should now appear after you help her out. Thanks for the bug report, Zelandoni!
- We also have some typo fixes from Thrillhouse, Arcturas, PaidPiedPiperPal, and Rykar.

Just wanted to post the updates from the last few days.
- There’s a new melee Technique snuck in. Thanks to PaidPiedPiperPal for the suggestion.
- Items with Neural Links (allowing you to play Neural Recordings) are now labeled in their effects. You can still use them from your inventory.
- Names on the Recruitment pane in the Gang Screen now link to people’s profiles. Good suggestion, Mag.
- Broke up a confusing choice between “rushing in to help” and “rushing in to kill people” on the pre-quest Docks. Thanks, Argeth!
- Buffed brass knuckles so starting melee would have a little more beatdown potential. Thanks for starting this conversation, Jick!
- Pressing enter in the gang stash sale fields doesn’t always sell arms. Thanks, Valera!
- Fixed some weirdness with the Prototype Coat use ability. Thanks, Zelandoni.
- Also, thanks to Zelandoni, Insanity Prawn Boy, Mag, and Queztatlapoca for help finding some typos.

Nice lazy Sunday here so I decided to catch up on requests and bug reports.
Mail
First off on a nerfy topic: due to a lot of feedback, I’ve removed the “send credits” options from messages early. There will be a gift system related to OmniMall eventually, but folks were insistent sending credits was an issue now and I tend to agree, so it’s gone.
On more exciting mail note, there’s now a ‘Delete All Unsaved’ button that you can use to clean up your inbox in one fell swoop. Be careful, it does exactly what it says on the tin.
Fixes
Chat messages dating from the same second shouldn’t dance around anymore. Thanks to The Kitchen Sink for the bug report.
Fixed a display error when making complicated sell orders in OmniMall. Thank you, Valera, for the quality bug reporting.
Also, we have some typos from The Kitchen Sink and Artie Effham.
Random Note
A few items will probably mysteriously show up as electronics craftable in the next few days. Don’t worry too much if they don’t combine with anything you can get yet.

Bunch of little updates today. Mostly been working on the Survivors’ Quest and exciting server issues, but found time for some updates.
- There’s now better information for the Gang Log about your members finally getting control of areas. Thanks to Mr. Green for making me realize I hadn’t done this already.
- Totally rewrote how Petrol Splash works. It should function as advertised now. Thanks to Harrakan and The Kitchen Sink for their good, detailed bug reports.
- There’s now a ‘Modify Checked’ at the top of your inbox too. Good suggestion, Mr. Green.
- Usable skills will now work properly even if you’re in the middle of changing capitalization or setting your gender. Thanks Sir Cheddar!
- Going through Beta Reset shouldn’t kick you out of Chat anymore. Thanks for the report Mr. Green!
- Typos hunted and eliminated thanks to Thrillhouse, Man Mobile, The Kitchen Sink, Valera, and PaidPiedPiperPal.
Also, in the department of vague patch notes:
- Unearthly coins trigger text was occasionally missing some text, which should be fixed now.
- Quantum Mechanics should now be giving headaches properly.
- There’s now another use for Cups of Joe. Thanks for the suggestion Argeth!
In the background, I’m working on the Survivors’ Quest. There are two big blocks that I can push separately, so I’ve been hard at work on the first.
Also, I was just looking at the old blog posts and it’s been almost a year since Metroplexity launched. August 13th, mark your calendars :)

Recovering from the festivities yesterday (yay! fireworks!) and working on Metroplexity.
A few updates:
- If you’re in chat as the daily shutdown approaches, there’ll be notices at the 10 and 1 minute mark. Thanks for the suggestion, Sir Cheddar.
- There is now an account option to make “Metros” appear as an option in your header. Good suggestion, Artie Effham.
- Gang Messages now appear in the edit box if you want to make minor changes. Thanks to The Kitchen Sink for poking me on this one.
And some bug fixes:
- Avatars will be awarded appropriately to those first entering Gang Warfare. Thanks to The Kitchen Sink and Zelandoni for helping me sort this one out.
- Private gangs will now appropriately be private (they were displaying if you were whitelisted to any gang, not just that one). Thanks, Olaf!
- Smugglers in the Slags and the University are no longer confused as to who’s where. Thanks for the testing Valera!
- Petrol Splash should now set the other guy on fire when defending in Gang Warfare. Good catch, Starwed.
- Mikhail shouldn’t get really confused anymore when you don’t have any Eclipse in your inventory. Wouldn’t have found it without you, Olaf!
- For some strange reason, PaidPiedPiperPal keeps wanting his Gang Jacket combines to not turn into coffee grounds. Crazy, I know, but I keep fixing them anyway.
Also, a nice batch of typos from DudeAtHome, PaidPiedPiperPal, Argeth, Borkman, Man Mobile, and Al!
Big thanks to everyone for keeping up with bug reporting. I’m plugging away at the Survivors’ Quest. The main quest won’t be ready for a while, but I’ve got some goodies lined up to keep things hopping in the mean time.

Done with Origins and caught up on all the bug reports and typos from over the Con. I’ve got a pile of drop-dead awesome art from Puyo and am looking forward to filling the Survivor’s quest with it.
- Evasion Power is now working properly. Great catch, Starwed!
- Descriptions in the Mall should now come up consistently. Thanks to Man Mobile and Zelandoni for helping me sort this one out.
- Asking the bartender “What’s the News?” no longer costs Energy. Thanks to Jick for the suggestion.
- Extra warehouse security badges are now salvagable. Thanks to Man Mobile for the suggestion here.
- Added some more University-relevant melee weapons, related to armory. Thanks to Argeth for the idea.
- Added a pair of new avatars for the gang warriors out there.
- Also fixed a bunch of typos. Thank you Valera, Happy Yeti, Man Mobile, PaidPiedPiperPal, The Kitchen Sink, and Shademaster00 for the help.
Also, rumors that Midgard was forced to return to its pre-Incident designs for the SD1 drones are completely without merit. Nothing to see here.

Just wanted to post an update about the changes made over the last couple of days. I’ve been keeping up on Bug Reports and plugging away at Survivors’ quest stuff. Puyo’s here, cranking out good arts. Pretty productive week for how little I’ve been at the house.
Couple fixes to report:
- Fixed a bug that was overwriting your hand in combat with bad data. Huge thanks to Man Mobile and Starwed for helping figure this one out.
- There’s now a more obvious, but hopefully not too obtrusive, link to donate. Good suggestion, The Kitchen Sink.
- Dr. Thomas should now be a bit more coherent when talking about the Hammer. Thanks for the note Zeladoni.
- Gaining control in PvP no longer gives you a message talking about how you’re going to get control eventually. Good catch, the Kitchen Sink.
- Also thanks to PaidPiedPiperPal, Thrillhouse, Wyrd, and Mag for typokilling.

So, mostly worked on chat today. Hopefully, the weirdness with it refreshing and losing what you’re typing or focus or both should be gone. Works like a charm for me, at least.
On a related note, you can now see the current time by mousing over “Who’s Here?” to go with the details on when messages came in by mousing over them.
Other Updates:
- Added some pretty cool functionality to contacts, where I can plug in floating conversation bits (like asking Hawk about your friends or the Squatter King’s son) separately and have them show up as needed. In the process, Lo started blabbing about some crazy puzzle box. Thanks to Justin and Thrillhouse for helping me get him back under control.
- The images in the Mall preview now link to their item descriptions. The text still links to the listings. Good suggestion, RazielSonOfKain.
- Log messages for Gang Warfare should be showing up consistently now. Thanks for the bug report, Mag.
- Beancounters should no longer get stealth-demoted everytime somebody leaves a gang. Thanks to PaidPiedPiperPal for helping sort this out and RazielSonOfKain for being the test subject.
- Also thanks to RazielSonOfKain for reminding me that I hadn’t turned off image borders everywhere. Shouldn’t have to worry about them again.
- Thanks to Cristiona for snagging a typo for us.

Whole bunch of updates today. Mostly expanding the Chat interface, but snuck in a few other updates as well.
Chat
- At the bottom of chat it’ll show who’s viewed that chat recently (last five minutes or so). Good suggestion, the Kitchen Sink.
- The Gang Warfare messages showing up in chat have been revamped. I think they’re clearer, but the secret is this: the first name listed is your gangmate.
- The autorefresh should no longer clear out what you’ve been typing. Good catch, Cryptodynamic.
- Your name will now also show up in bold in the chat as it does in the gang log. Thanks for the suggestion, The Kitchen Sink.
- When you mouseover a comment in chat, it’ll display the time posted. Remember that is server time, which is set to GMT. Thanks for the suggestion, Cryptodynamic! Always up for a good excuse to use mouseover text.
Other Stuff
- You can now search in the OmniMall ignoring items in your inventory/equipped by checking the “Listings Only” checkbox right under the search. Thanks for the suggestion, Wyrd!
- The Gang Log now includes people entering the gang, leaving the gang, promotions, and demotions. These are under a new section called ‘Members.’ It’s pretty cool. Good suggestion, The Kitchen Sink.
- Shard will now be encounterable after luring a guard away. Thanks for the bug report, Cryptodynamic!
- The Mall Previews on the front page now have images. It’s kind of shocking how much more interesting that makes them look. Good call, RazielSonOfKain!
- Third Eye Stashes you collect from now on (using Big M’s Maps) will now show up under your completed quests. Good suggestion, Harrakan.
- Also corrected a typo from PaidPiedPiperPal.
