Wanted to mention some of the updates that have gone in recently. Mostly I’ve been working on the Survivor’s Quest pre-content, which is coming along now.
- In the inventory, empty equipment slots are listed if you have some of that item type available. Thanks to Mag for the suggestion.
- Corrected an error where Vigilante fights weren’t costing Energy consistently. Good catch, NeonGrey!
- Fixed up the dates on the Updates pane to say 2010… you know, the year we’ve been in for a while. Thanks for catching that, DanBob!
- Corrected how stuns (mostly Petrol Splash) are displayed so you shouldn’t run into situations where a stun is displayed after a round where they did nothing. This was the topic of enough bug reports, I figured it counts as broken.
- Percentage Penalties are now displayed properly.
- And some good ol’ fashioned typo fixes from Llamaman, Vholes Piper, Mag, NeonGrey, and Cryptodynamic.

- Deactivating alarm in Midgard Bioresearch should work properly. Thanks Llamaman!
- Fighting Shard is no longer a free action. Good catch Factitious.
- Poetry notes now only work on the noted document. Thanks for the bug report, Mag.
- The Golden Chip links back to the net rather than the streets. Good suggestion, Plus4!
- The bauble items (from the Lost Son quest) are gadgets rather than offhand now, to match the switch for Slags IDs. Thanks to Vholes Piper for this one.
- And some typo fixes from Mag, Vholes Piper, Thrillhouse, Plus4, and Borkman.
There are probably some other changes that I missed. If anything leaps to mind, drop me a line and I’ll make sure it gets added.

I just got back from my vacation in Florida (Clearwater, if you’re curious). Bug reports and the like should be caught up, so if you have any outstanding bugs, feel free to pester me again.
As it turns out, all the bugs I remember fixing over vacation are hacking/net combat related. Well that and a lot of typos :)
- Unplugging from a net combat should now replenish net stats properly. Thanks Nyther!
- Javascript should no longer go utterly berserk heading from a net combat to the meatspace kind (well… net-meatspace rather than net-net… yeah) while in Firefox. Thanks for the bug report, Cryptodynamic!
- Intercept Code and Extract Code should now play together properly rather than getting into a fight and breaking all their toys. Good catch, Mag!
- Also, thanks to Llamaman, Al, Xerf, Plus4, Mag, and Thrillhouse for reporting some typos and grammatical weirding.

The Midgard Laboratory in the Slags has had some security updates, centering around their shiny new computer system. Some encounters in the lab have been changed and there are ripples elsewhere.
There’s a lot of cool there I don’t want to spoil, but folks will note that the security on the locker room (such as it was) has changed. So you’re not just imagining things.
Other recent changes include:
- Intercept data now appropriately drops some code. Thanks for the suggestion, bonbon.
- Hawk’s request regarding his errant member in the Slags should now show up in your quest log. Thanks Steaming for getting me on this track.
- Also, we have a ton of typo fixes thanks to Mag, Hotpho, Sir Cheddar, Cristiona, Dennis, Vholes Piper, Factitious, Nyther, and Thrillhouse. Not kidding. There were a lot of typos.
P.S.: There will probably be a bit more Slags-quest related touching up as the Survivors’ Quest looms closer. Nothing huge, mostly just implementing suggestions I’ve let pile up.

For those of you who don’t check the forums, I’m been out with the mother of all cold/flu badness for the last week or so. I should be caught up on all the bug reports and messages now. If there’s anything I missed, feel free to re-hassle me.
- Losing processor in net combat shouldn’t confuse Javascript quite as much. Thanks for the testing, JTN2002!
- Contacts should now be highlighted more consistently in the top pane. Thanks for the bug report, Plus4.
- Defending Techniques special abilities should be triggering consistently. Good catch, TeKRunneR.
- Corrected some items from the Survivors’ Quest that were dropping early. Thanks Mag and Jenkins!
- Little Eddie’s training tickets shouldn’t sap energy when you’re beaten up anymore. Thanks for the bug report, Plus4.
- Some chitinous items have new art. Thanks for the suggestion, Vholes, although it’s been a while coming.
- And a heaping helping of typo fixes to top it off from Steaming, Vholes Piper, Stark, Polygon, Al, Dennis, Valera, Wyrd, and Mag.

We have a festive batch of interface updates and bug fixes today… most of which seem to involve gang warfare… hmmm…
- In possibly the most festive update, there is now a gift link in player’s profiles. Top notch suggestionf rom TekRunner.
- Chat now includes a /channel command that will tell you about which channels you’re in and which you could be in. Good suggestion, Wyrd.
- Also chat related, the long-standing request for doublepost prevention was taken care of. Thanks to Llamaman and The Kitchen Sink for getting this on the list a ways back.
- In “shopping” encounters with old coins, your number of old coins in inventory should appear before the choices. Good suggestion, Steaming.
- Corrected some database problems causing issues in PvP. Thanks for the bug reports Caradal, xKiv, and Pyren.
- Changed the Dock’s name in Gang Warfare. If that sets anything on fire, be sure to tell me. Thanks for pointing that out, Vholes.
- In another old request off the list, gang message and description changes are now displayed in the gang log in their own section. Thanks to The Kitchen Sink for that one.
- Also corrected some very festive typos with help from Plus4, Mag, Vholes Piper, and Factitious.

On today’s special holiday episode of the devblog, we have:
- We’ve added a personal touch to the Abominable Snowman leaderboard, revealing where you stand. Thanks for the suggestion, Man Mobile, and some bug finding from Mag.
- Horned Snowmen will no longer use their ultimate “Turn your weapon into a Brain Staples Single” attack. Thanks for the suggestion, Mag and Deathknight.
- Fixed up some icicle errors. Thanks for the bug report, Valera.
- You now need to be in the Slags to give Hel her Christmas gift of a containment suit. Thanks for pointing this out Pyren and Vholes.
- Larry’s extra-special gift is likewise better given in person. Good suggestion from a ways back, thanks to Mr. Green.
- Thanks for some very festive typo fixes from Mag, Valera, Argeth, and Al.
- Also, the Flying Eyes got an early Christmas present from yours truly.

Nice handful of updates and new features heading into the holidays.
- New characters now start with an extra day’s Energy, Body, and Hunger to help them start off on the right foot. Good suggestion, Sir Cheddar.
- You can now set yourself to other positions along with being leader in a gang, allowing you to receive the recently added recruitment notices among other things. Thanks Mag!
- Added some missing quest log text thanks to Plus4 and Wyrd.
- Fixed an weird interaction between Secrets of the Cube and Dreamslayer. Nice catch, Genesis Rhapsodos!
- And a special thank you to Mag, Thrillhouse, Dyffryn, Wyrd, Vholes Piper, and Caradal for helping stomp some typos.
And did you see that? It looks like it’s starting to snow.

We have some interface updates and an interesting bug fix today.
- Entering chat will now automatically /who for your primary (oldest active) channel. Thanks for the suggestion, Wyrd.
- Net targets found in searches will now have their names appear as links, saving the need to search through the list for a new site. Good suggestion Harrakan.
- All clickable or hoverable text in the game should now give a distinct cursor to separate it from all that boring old readable text. Thanks to Wyrd and Al for this one.
- Resolved an interesting bug where skill bonuses where being double (or, you know, octuple) counted. Thanks to DerMagus and Amasius for reporting it!
- We’ve also got a parcel of typo fixes from Argeth, Wyrd, Caradal, Mag, and Glass. Thanks!

Dropped in a few minor updates over Thanksgiving.
- There are now descriptions of the stats, available by clicking on their names in the left pane. Good suggestion, Steaming.
- There are descriptions in the quest log for the connections between steps in the main quest, in case you need a little nudge. I forgot to list this one a few updates ago. Thanks, Plus4!
- Killing the poet now properly removes the quest for his friend out of the quest log. Thanks again, Steaming!
- And we have an impressive crop of typo fixes including help from Mag, Borkman, Wyrd, Pyren, Cryptodynamic, Sir Cheddar, and Vholes Piper.
