We have another round of bug fixes… and by “bug fixes” I mean mostly typos.
Speaking of typos, thanks to GoldS, RazielSonofKain, GoldS, Al, Cryptodynamic, GoldS, Argeth, GoldS, Cank, Vholes Piper, GoldS, ThunderBird, Mag, and GoldS for help tracking down typos.
- Fixed a display bug with Better Part of Valor runs. Thanks Mag and xKiv.
- Lieutenant rank now carries through whitelists properly. Thanks for the bug report, Barton26.
- White noise programs should now deduct from perception properly. Good eyes, Al, good eyes.
- The testing lab outside the Slags can now be salvaged like other computers. Good suggestion, BigBellyJarelli.

Been messing around with the interface some more and fixing bugs from my previous fiddling.
It occurs to me that I should also announce the new podcast questions thread where new players might see it. So…. there’s a questions thread for our next Podcast on the forums if you have any questions.
On the interface tweaks side:
- Crafting now has the same sort of top bar as the inventory. Thanks for the suggestion, elliotbay!
- All the encounters from Stolen Artistry should include an option to take you back to your character sheet. Credit for convincing me goes to xKiv and RazielSonofKain. Thanks!
- The Housing screen will now be available while you’re absorbed in reading the Black Book. Good call, Mag!
- Your skills list in the Survivors’ Reset board will now be sorted alphabetically if you’re sorting the main view to Unique Skills. Good thought, Amasius.
- Bouncing to random profiles now only shows profiles that have logged in recently.
Also fixed a few bugs:
- Items taken out of your inventory by outfits or suites won’t still be displayed on that pageload. Thanks for the bug report, ganymed!
- Twisted Hounds have been trained to stop eating the “Continue On” options, thanks to ne0x and Joel_Fry.
And where would we be without some typo fixes, this time thanks to Al and Mag.

Have a couple of crafting changes, along with some catchup on bug reports from the con.
First off, crafting:
- There is now a “simple” crafting section. For the moment it just contains paper mache recipes. But that means there are paper mache recipes.
- Also, any recipe that you know but can’t be used due to a special requirement will say as much. Thanks for the suggestion, Llamaman.
And some bug fixes:
- Having three enemies in hacking no longer breaks targeting. I can’t imagine where Vholes Piper could have run into such vicious defenses.
- Corrected an old bug where Hawk would try (and fail) to attack you upon joining up. Thanks for the bug report, TheManStark!
- Fixed a few errors in the Sewer Hideout with choices giving inappropriate results. Thanks to Xerf and xKiv for reporting those.
- Arthur won’t try to decrypt the PDA once he’s already figured it out anymore. Good catch, RazielSonofKain!
- Corrected a problem with the Twisted Raven’s Withering Gaze, thanks to Vholes Piper.
Also corrected a parcel of typos from Metro, Vholes Piper, Llamaman, Metro, TeKRunneR, Argeth, and Tullus. Thanks everyone!

Hey everybody! We’ve got a nice round of updates and bug fixes here that I figured I’d mention.
- Added some mushroom related goodies. Thanks for the inspiration RazielSonofKain!
- Gang messages now have a ‘Send to All’ feature from the gang screen. Good suggestion, Glass!
- Made fishing start working again after the update. Thanks to Sir Cheddar and Cryptodynamic!
- High Test line encounters should properly grant XP and give continue on options. Thanks Sir Cheddar!
- The Ghoul King should now correctly report the number of favors he owes you. Thanks, Neongrey!
- Corrected a bug where certain sushi wasn’t working properly. Thanks Al and GoldS for the bug report!
- Also corrected a load of typos thanks to GoldS, Glass, Ricket, RazielSonofKain, Sir Cheddar, and Mag. Especially Mag.

So I got a little stuff done last night while waiting for folks to test out the quest and wanted to mention the updates here.
- Rewrote a lot of crafting, like a lot of crafting, which will make it a lot easier for me to add new recipes in the future. And paves the way for remembering experimental recipes between resets.
- As an upshot of that, most recipe results are now clickable for the item description. Thanks to GoldS for the suggestion and Glass for helping me get everything working.
- I also reworked how curatives (which is to say things that remove effects, like Slags Antidote or the Street Doc) work, which should have them working more consistently. There weren’t many visible changes, and most of them good, but I won’t promise anything.
- Fixed up a lot of little things and a few big things with the new quest thanks to Cryptodynamic, Argeth, Goferchan, Happy Yeti, and GoldS.
- Messages past their timeout won’t be deleted on the pageload you’re trying to save them. Sorry about that Shademaster00, but thanks for the bug report.
- The new capitalization change in the account preferences page should be working properly. Thanks Sir Cheddar!
- Having the id equipped wasn’t allowing folks into the Slags Lab for a while. That should be working properly now. Thanks for the report Cryptodynamic!
- Also, we’ve got a great round of new content typos from Cryptodynamic, RazielSonofKain, Argeth, Borkman, Mag, and Sir Cheddar! Thanks, everyone!

It occurs to me it’s been a bit since I posted the bug fixes. Here’s what we’ve got:
- Fixed a pair of bugs that were allowing descriptions to leak out early. Thanks Al and Cryptodynamic!
- In the process of fixing that, broke the description system in several novel ways (my favorite being that you couldn’t see your shirt’s description.) Thanks for the bug reports Cristiona, Edwahd, Nyther, Lord Finisher, Blarghgh, and PaidPiedPiperPal.
- Added some spaces where they were desperately needed. Good call, Ricket.
- Resolved an issue where the Energy on certain special fights was being charged up front. Good eyes, Lord Finisher.
- Continuing the theme, broke noncombats while I was in there. Thanks for the bug report, vandamien.
- Corrected an issue where you could lock yourself out of Mikhail’s reward for the Docks quest if Lo leaves before you take it. Good catch, xKiv!
- Also fixed an issue where certain hacking sites were giving away Christmas presents. In October! I know, it’s crazy :) Thanks, slyspawn!
- Thanks to RazielSonofKain and especially Mag for hunting down some typos for me.
Status on what I’m working on is: done with the crafting stuff I was dragging on (about five dozen items, some new buffs/techniques, and a bunch of skills). Next is dialogue for that branch, followed by a break working on other stuff you’ll see sooner to clear my head.

A fair amount of updates this week. Mostly today, really. I spent most of the week taking a leg of the Survivors’ Quest from “straightforward” to “wee options!”
Two things from the “accidental petition” mailbag:
- Hawk and Dr. Thomas now have explicit responses to you bailing on their deal and trying to free your friends directly.
- There’s now a link to clear all of your hacking targets, if you’re so inclined. I take no responsibility if you regret clicking it later.
A bunch of bug fixes:
- Corrected some issues with adding new hacking targets to the list. Thanks Argeth and Al for your help sorting through this one.
- Fixed a craaaaaaazy bug where end of round damage could take out an entire group of enemies when paired with an earlier area of effect attack. Thanks to Mag for his spading and patience while I figured this one out. It was quite the doozy.
- The character pane should now refresh after encounters that cost no energy (reflecting new locations, effect changes, attribute increases, and the like). Good catch, PaidPiedPiperPal.
- Hacking encounters shouldn’t give ironic SQL errors when you defeat the defenders. Thanks, Argeth and RazielSonofKain!
Let’s see… SDnanos are now salvagable with interesting results. Thanks, Llamaman.

Some fixes today, mostly on the targeting end of things and some bugs that folks have noticed because of it. Kind of interesting to see what shakes out when you expose information folks weren’t seeing before.
- Killing targets shouldn’t screw up the indicator anymore. Thanks to BeerBuddha, Mag, and RazielSonofKain for those bug reports.
- Hopefully we’ve squashed the sporadic issues where defenders in net combat would hang on an extra round before dying. Give me a holler if you run into this again. Thanks for the bug report, Rykar!
- Fixed a really neat bug where certain items were displaying “0 in inventory” incorrectly when using the “Display Listings Only” checkbox in the Mall. Excellent catch, bonbon!
- The Fractal Understanding effect from the new donation item shouldn’t immediately be taxed Energy as you’re gaining it. Thanks, Rykar.
- Clicking the same target again won’t hide the indicator anymore. Thanks Al!
- Added mouseover text to avatars so you can see their names. A suggestion from the forums.
- Corrected some typos courtesy of Edwahd, Mag, and Argeth.
And that’s it for today. Other than that, I’ve been working on a sweet puzzle in the Survivors’ Quest content. It’s still a while out, so I’ll be dropping in some other interesting stuff whenever I need a break.

Added another way that choices matter, which is always awesome, and sorted out a little weirdness today.
- Experience gained in combat is now weighted based on your Techniques used. You should still get some experience towards all four, just more towards the ones you’re actively using. Thank you, Al, for reminding me about this.
- Special messages from the unearthly coin shouldn’t fall under the “Continue On” options anymore. Thanks, Pyren!
- The experimental coat will no longer count the buffs it just removed towards the new buff it hands out. Good catch, Cryptodynamic!
- Corrected the fused sword description to actually describe the fused sword. :) Thanks Mag!
- Fixed a serious Metros breakdown. Thanks for the bug report, RazielSonofKain.

So, between my long weekend and the beginning of this week I fixed a ton of bugs and typos. I apologize in advance if I miss something in the list, but it’s the most thorough accounting I have.
- Fixed a bunch of early bugs within hacking. Thank you Rykar, Thrillhouse, Zelandoni, Nyther, Jick, Man Mobile, Blarghgh, and NX_Phoenix.
- Folks shouldn’t be getting blank spaces in hacking tools anymore. Thanks to Mag and Man Mobile for reporting this one.
- The special decompilers should work. Thank you RazielSonOfKain.
- You can no longer get stuck on the second floor of the Slags tower. Thanks for the bug report, Llamaman.
- Switching for a lower processor computer shouldn’t confuse the installation requirements screen anymore. Good catch, Harrakan!
- The A student no longer decides he needs more Eclipse every time you talk about art. Thanks llamaman!
- Made another stab at fixing Petrol Splash. Thanks Valera and JTN2002 for the testing!
- Added some new dialogue options for Lo. Good call Serenity.
- Dual Armored Vest is now function, thanks to RazielSonOfKain.
- Fixed the grammar for equipping and unequipping items that start with ‘the.’ Thanks Shademaster00 and Rykar.
- Added Data and Programs to the mall. Thanks Rykar!
- Thanks to Cryptodynamic for doublechecking I’m not giving you those trashy drone hounds when you’re supposed to get lean, mean twisted hounds :)
- Your X-Ray vision, although potent, no longer allows you to see Professor Evans through his door. Thanks Wyrd!
- As it turns out, vats of acid are not filled with little dolls and dried fish are not made out of tarnished coins. Who knew? Besides Shademaster00 and Cryptodynamic, that is?
