Did some rescripting for combat.
- The most noticeable change is that evasion now displays the amount of damage you took rather than the amount you avoided, so you don’t have to do math to determine the final damage. Thanks to Mr. Green for the suggestion.
- Special Techniques are now run as they’re actually displayed, so you won’t have weird things like getting poisoned by an enemy that never actually stabbed you. Thanks to Mag for pointing out this one was being a bit weird.
- Dynamite now actually triggers at the end of the round as a totally separate thing rather than being cobbled on as an extra attack.
That’s it!
Cheers!

The big Gang Warfare revamp went in today. Lots of neat stuff, let’s see what I can remember off the top of my head.
- There’s a Hideout link in the top pane now, where appropriate. Among other things, several new gang enhancements are manually used from that screen.
- There are new gang enhancements. Two will pop out right away, with others (five more) unlockable through various means.
- There are a bunch of new Techniques. Not all of these will stay Gang-only, but there are a whole slew of them, including some popular demand ones and some that think are awesome.
- Vigilante has grown into what I was originally picturing. There are some more options now that I’m pretty excited about.
- There are new crafting components for every craft. I didn’t really plan it that way, but there are a lot of crafting components.
- An entirely new type of consumable has hit the streets, courtesy of the Third Eye. These won’t stay gang-only forever, but I think they’re pretty interesting either way.
- There’s a bit of a side quest, although the eventual reward isn’t a Skill.
- There’s also a new Skill, giving a new option to an old side quest, but it’s so hidden it’s almost an Easter Egg.
- There’s now another market for your old coins, if you’re so inclined.
- The game now tracks lifetime gang warfare records. They’re displayed in parentheses behind the current number where appropriate. Thanks to Pyren for the suggestion.
- Medicine Cabinets indicate when they’ve been raided in both the Gang and Hideout screens. Thanks for the suggestion Magnifico.
- You should receive additional feedback when your Gang Warfare attempts move your gang to Total Control or Iron Grip. Good suggestion, The Kitchen Sink!
- Thanks to Man Mobile and Justin for reporting issues I caused while getting the code ready for these upgrades.
I’m probably missing stuff, honestly. There’s a whole lot going on. There’s even a new paper mache ‘recipe’ for crying out loud. It’s like a madhouse in there.
With an upgrade like this, especially in the PvP system, I expect for some problems to slip through. So please keep your bug reporting ready to go.
Cheers!

Implimented a whole slew of player suggestions today, including a bunch from the Suggestion Thread on the Forums. Here’s the list of changes:
- The inventory now has two columns. If this gives anyone problems, be sure to send me a message. Thanks to Nytmare for the suggestion and to ACM for pointing out when I broke inventory trying to get this working.
- If you’re fighting multiple targets, your current target will say “(Targeted)” when you mouseover their portrait. You may need to clear your cache to see this change. Thanks to MoreUmlaut for the suggestion here.
- The skill Ghoultouched got a power boost. It now scales as you go through the game. Thanks to Lord Finisher for pointing out it wasn’t really up to snuff.
- When you go into the Techniques screen for the first time after receiving more Techniques, those Techniques will be bolded. Good suggestion, Nytmare!
- Larry will now clarify his somewhat cryptic comment about Purification, if you so desire. Argeth pointed out this opportunity.
- PaidPiedPiperPal suggested so many things they get their own section: Old Pill Bottles have a few new options, you can know bind defeated Twisted Hounds, the containment suit will protect you even falling in Lake Metroplex, Andrea will help you even if you go unconscious in her fight (but not if you run), and fortune cookies now give, ya know, fortunes. Extra thanks to PaidPiedPiperPal for all the good suggestions!
- Also cleared up a bunch of typos thanks to Argeth, The Kitchen Sink, Nosside, Metro, Mag, A Naked Jew, and ACM. Thanks everyone!
Keep an eye here and on the forum over the next couple days, because I’m going to be looking for input on features and what order people want stuff tackled.
Cheers!

As you can imagine, most of today’s updates involve Gang Warfare. If you haven’t gotten into that yet, there is one update of note:
- The Techniques page now orders by Chain number then alphabetically. This is purely a usability change, so if you feel this makes your life harder or easier, I’d love to hear feedback. Thanks to PaidPiedPiperPal for the push here.
On to the gang and gang warfare updates:
- You should now receive mail messages when you win or lose defending an area. Love it? Hate it?
- It now displays in the Gang Warfare screen within the Gangs options what areas your gang currently has a hold in. An item has appeared on the scene that also helps give this feedback.
- There will now be a Gang link on the top pane for gang members. Thanks to PaidPiedPiperPal for pointing this one out.
- Like profiles, gang pages now show a Previous, Random, and Next at the bottom. Should make looking for stuff a bit easier. Thanks to MoreUmlaut for the suggestion.
- Your credits total in the character pane will now immediately update on creating a gang. Cheers to PaidPiedPiperPal for the bug report.
- Performing gang actions (like whitelisting and blacklisting) from the profile screen will no longer temporarily make the target look like they’re part of your gang. Thanks to both MoreUmlaut and PaidPiedPiperPal for bringing this one to my attention.
Keep up the great work everybody! Keep the bug reports rolling in and have fun beating each other up a bit.
Cheers!

It was brought to my attention (thanks Argeth) that there was only one available Chain 7 Technique before the Slags. There is a new Technique you should be able to get around the Docks quest or so, although how to get it is by no means a ‘gimme.’
Cheers!

Made quite a few changes today, some are function and others are cosmetic changes that I want in place before the PvP rollout.
- The left hand pane should load less often. This should help with some of the ‘flickering’. If you catch it not reloading when it has new information to display, let me know.
- Striking with an empty Chain now gives you a new hand of five Techniques. I think this might give open up some interesting options, but give feedback if you have an opinion either way. Consider it an experiment.
- The character sheet (the screen accessed from the Character link in the top pane) got an overhaul. Notably, Equipment has been moved solely to the Inventory page to make room for the Gang/PvP information.
- You can now change the capitalization of your character’s name. No more all-lower-case for you! Click on your name in the character sheet to make any changes.
- Moved gender into the character sheet from the initial sign-up form. If you care what gender your character is, you can set that in your character sheet as well. This is mostly for avatars and pronouns in descriptions for the upcoming PvP stuff.
Cheers!

Very small update today. There are two new Techniques in: Crushing Punch and the return of Rain of Bullets as an area of effect attack.
The real meat of PvP is done, but there’s lots of little stuff left. Its possible I might have it done before I skip town on the 26th, but no promises.
Hope everyone’s having a happy holiday. Remember to check under your tree in Metroplex too :)
Cheers!

Area of Effect Techniques are officially in now. For the moment there’s only one, hiding among the Chemistry content with the Slags rollout.
Sometime soon, the current Rain of Bullets will be renamed Indirect Fire and a shiny new Rain of Bullets (with more rainy art) will be introduced that does Area of Effect damage.
Also, there are two new encounters. One is a new resident of the Sewers, a scout from strange and far-off places. The other is a chance to hone your Chess skills on an opponent more challenging than the bum.
Cheers!

Lots of little updates today, mostly requested by the Beta Testers. Yay! Go Beta Testers!
Here’s what we’ve got:
- There is a ‘Continue On’ link in the Rest page now. You always could do this, it just wasn’t very obvious. Thanks to IPwnN00bs and Puyo for this one.
- Body and Hunger now accumulate as Energy does (up to 4 days’ worth). Thanks for the suggestion Szodrin.
- There are now far more detailed descriptions of the Techniques. This one is thanks to Durgen.
- On a related note, you can now see Technique descriptions in battle by double-clicking the Technique.
- Third Eye Drunks are no longer super powered compared to the rest of the Third Eye. Thanks again to Durgen for pointing this out.
- ‘Multi’ links are now hidden when you only have one of a given item.
- Lo will now respond correctly if Dr. Amundsen is killed.
And that’s it. Thanks for everyone’s help! I’ve also been hard at work on the Slags, so look forward to that.
Cheers!

New area opened on the Docks. Don’t want to call it a
quest per se, but there is a decent chunk of content there. It’s difficulty is in line with the upcoming Slags quest, so expect a bit of pain if you go in unprepared.
That said, it’s available as soon as you finish the Docks quest.
Some highlights:
- Five brand new Techniques!
- A new Skill that, although not easy to get, is pretty handy.
- A whole slew of new items including some Midgard prototypes (read: schwanky).
- Your first chance to fight (or run very quickly away from) a Midgard drone.
In addition to some other stuff I probably forgot, I’ve fixed a bug that was preventing Will bonuses from displaying properly. They worked, but they didn’t display in the description pop-up.
Next up, in game in the Slags quest, but I’ll also be putting together the framework of a wiki per everyone’s suggestion. Good idea!
Cheers!
